Where does the ink go after laser tattoo removal? Is there any chance of developing cancer from the ink? Should I not tan afterwards?

The laser explodes ink molecules and your body absorbs and eliminates them via macrophages--imagine Pac-Man gobbling the ink. The ink is then excreted via kidneys, liver, etc. To date, we have not seen any reports of cancer risks with having tattoos applied or removed. We do not recommend tanning while undergoing treatments. Tanned skin reduces penetration of the laser. Either completely cover the tattoo and/or wear a high zinc sun protection. Do not have sun exposure for 2 weeks before a treatment or after a treatment.

Ink is removed by the lymphatic system. Cancer is a chronic problem of the immune system (Dr Max Gerson), or caused by parasites or solvents (Dr Hulda Clark). The ink is not being added to your body; it was put there when you got your tattoo. Tanning is supposed to be avoided during the removal period. Moderate tanning allows the body to make vitamin D. Dr. Mercola says up to 15 minutes a day or before skin gets red, if I remember correctly.
