You may be able to have the whole arm treated in one day, but some of our patients have to break up large areas because of reactions such as hives. When large areas are treated for sun spots, tattoos and freckles, it is somewhat common to have the patient develop redness and hives during the treatment. This is typically avoided by using Benadryl before and after treatment and by treating smaller areas. Go ahead and try the whole area the first time, but if you have a reaction or if the pain is too much, break it up.
