Will the skin look weird after tattoo removal?

Or will it look the same as before the tattoo was placed?

The skin can look quite normal, or there can be a shadow of the tattoo remaining. An experienced practitioner with a good knowledge of laser physics and skin physiology will make every effort to protect the skin. That said, individual response varies (e.g., healing time, the body's ability to pull the ink out, etc.) and the variability of the tattoo artist (e.g., amount/type of ink, colors, depth, etc.) determine the final outcome. There can be hypopigmentation (loss of pigment), especially with red ink. This typically returns with sun exposure after completing treatment series. Hyperpigmentation (too much pigment) can occur in some people who are prone to this. Scarring can occur if the after care protocol isn't adhered to. Seeking treatment in a medical office is the safest.

Find a reputable facility with the right wavelength of lasers for the colors in your tattoo. Ask for before and after photos and if they have ever had scarring with their procedures before. Blistering and bleeding more often lead to scarring, so ask if this is part of the process for this practice.
