I have a tattoo on my wrist with 5 different colors. Will different lasers need to be used?

The colors are black, blue, yellow, red and green. My tattoo is 5 years old.

The black, blue, and red are best for the Q-switched Nd:Yg laser (1064). The yellow and green would be best for a Q-switched Alexandrite (755). Make sure that the facility that you go to uses both types of light.

Different types of lasers treat different colors. Our Astanza Trinity has all three types (1064, Ruby, and 532) to treat the color spectrum. Yellow and white have little or no pigment to attract the laser. You may get fading of the yellow because there is usually some black in the ink. However, when the tattoo is removed, the little bit of yellow left won't be very noticeable.

Yes. Different colors are affected more by different laser wavelengths, so we use 3 actual lasers in the same machine--one for black, one for green and blue, and one for red, orange, purple, yellow, brown.
