Unfortunately, it is difficult. The best way is to ask a friend for a referral. You should also visit the facilities you are considering to speak about the process and to view before and after photos. Ask how many years of experience they have using lasers and what percentage of tattoo patients wind up with permanent scarring. Lastly, check online reviews to see what other consumers are saying about the practice.

Treatment in a medical office is better than using a tattoo artist who has a laser. Some spas and parlors pay a medical director to do this, but there is little medical oversight if there is a problem. The practitioner should be trained in laser physics and skin physiology. Experience in all of these facets is very important. Damage cannot be undone. We have a doctor on site or in close contact--not in Canada as we have heard from a few spas/parlors--if needed, and all our staff are medical and have received extensive laser training.

To perform laser tattoo removal in California, the person doing the treatment must be a nurse, PA or physician. You should choose a practitioner based on reputation (hopefully you have a referral), type of lasers used and whether they are right for the color of your tattoo,
time in business and experience.

I just got a tattoo on my ribcage that isn't very big. It is outlined in black ink and only shaded a bit inside. Very minimal color to it. I am a pale skinned girl and wanted to know if I will see complete results if I have it removed, or if it will only look faded.
