Does the skin get uneven after peeling from laser tattoo removal?

I have two tattoos on both hands. It's been 16 days since the first laser tattoo removal session. 40% of the ink from my one tattoo has been removed and the rest is fading. But while the skin dried up and peeled, the tattoo portion got uneven. I use A&D ointment and both the tattoos are very itchy now. The small one sometimes gets reddish. Sometimes the peeled portion gets white. Please suggest what to do.

There should not be any loss of skin. But like a sunblock, you have had ink covering this part of your skin, so when the ink is getting removed the skin is new skin. I would suggest using a SPF 50 to cover the tattoos so that you do not get hyperpigmentation. Also massage the areas if they are no longer tender. Do not ever pick or peel at the tattoo after treatments. This is taking off the body's natural protection over the area as it heals. Continue to use a cream/lotion with vitamins to help heal. Neosporin is overkill. Aveeno or a natural lotion will help this heal much faster!

I had my 3 laser tattoo removal session before 2, 5 weeks, but unlike previous times, it hasn't been healed yet and it looks like a brown smudge. My doctor said that the laser had to go deeper this time so the burning was deeper. I'm scared, is it normal?
