New Tattoo Guidelines

On the wake of increased stringency in the tattoo industry, the Ministry of Health has stiffened protocols yet again. New infection control regulations have been placed on tattoo artists and parlors. Health officials are hoping this will lessen the chances of people contracting blood-related infections post-piercings and tattoos. Soonews.com reported on these new rules about Algoma public health, "Among the new rules operators must use a CSA approved Autoclave to sterilize equipment which will provide a computer printout evidence to the health inspectors that equipment is properly sterilized." Alongside these new infection protocols, the government has increased tattoo removal funding and tightened tattooing laws. The industry may now have more credibility and safety.
