Musician Says that Tattoo Removal is a Hotter Business than Live Music

Deke Dickerson is a musician who has made his name in rockabilly. The genre of music is popular with fringe groups that are also interested in tattooing, piercing and the history of hot rods. This musical subculture has gained popularity over the years in the same way that tattooing has gone mainstream. And Dickerson has done well for himself in his musical career. But despite his success, he recently said that going into a business like tattoo removal might make more fiscal sense than going into work as a live performance musician. In an interview with The Ventura County Star, Dickerson was asked what his advice to an aspiring musician would be. His response was essentially that if you want to make money, you should look into going to an industry that's growing. And, as he points out, that industry is not necessarily the business of live music. He highlights the fact that live music performances have been decreasing in popularity over the last twenty five years. That's a debatable point. But what's not really debatable is that tattoo removal is on the rise. And he goes on to say that he believes it's an industry that's going to begin booming in the next decade or two. For people who want to start a new job that's likely to make money, the business of tattoo removal might be better than the business of making music. Of course, as a consumer, you want to make sure that the tattoo removal specialist you see went into the business for the love of medicine and not just to turn a quick buck.
