The Laser Tattoo Removal process requires multiple treatments (6-12
treatments on average and depends on size color and location of tattoo)
spaced 4-12 weeks apart. This process can take a year or two for a complete
removal. The use of a specialized laser is required for laser tattoo
removal. Typically a Q-Switch Yag or Ruby laser are best for laser tattoo
removal.
The older the tattoo the better the odds it will be to be fully removed.
When we say "older tattoo" this means a tattoo that is 8-10 years old. Once
a tattoo is one month old, it can be lasered.
There is no guarantee's regarding complete removal. There are to many
unknown elements that can effect the laser tattoo removal process for
complete removal to be guaranteed although it is possible.
Typical the easiest color to remove is black and the most difficult color's
to remove are bright blues and greens. There may be residual pigment after
the recommended course of treatment is completed.
Scaring is sometimes already in the tattoo from how it was applied. If you
can run your hand over your tattoo and feel it (it feels raised) there is
scaring (scar tissue) in the tattoo. Scaring can also be a result of how you
care for the tattoo post laser treatment.
