If I have a tattoo that I want to have removed from my face, will laser or facial fade cream work?

I have a tattoo on my face that I would like to go away. Which would provide better results, laser or facial fade cream that you can purchase at a drug store?

Unless the tattoo is cosmetic (eye liner, eyebrow or lip liner), they can be successfully treated with laser. Cosmetic tattoos may contain metal, which can change color (e.g., bronze or brown) with removal. Fade creams will not work.

Q-switched lasers are FDA approved for tattoo removal; creams are not. We see people with bad scars from other methods.

I am not familiar with fade cream, but just from a medical standpoint, I am not sure that something applied topically would provide much benefit in breaking up the ink pigment underneath the skin. With that, I would have to say try it. But be aware that it may not give you the results you desire.

Laser tattoo removal is a proven method of removing a tattoo, and the success rate is high. Much, however, depends on the tattoo itself. Some colors and some types of ink are removed more quickly than others. We use the PicoSure laser for tattoo removal. It is effective on most tattoos. Set up a consultation with a laser treatment center you trust and know are skilled. You might wish to look for one that removes tattoos via a variety of different lasers, including the PicoSure, so that you can compare.

I just got a tattoo on my ribcage that isn't very big. It is outlined in black ink and only shaded a bit inside. Very minimal color to it. I am a pale skinned girl and wanted to know if I will see complete results if I have it removed, or if it will only look faded.
