I am looking into laser removal and the place I would like to go has a Trinity by Astanza which they claim can remove all of the colors in my tattoo. The tattoo is on my ankle and is about the size of my hand. They claim they can completely remove it. Is this true?
We use the Astanza trinity laser, which contains 3 lasers to remove all colors. While very effective, there are many variables that affect removal such as ink type, depth, amount of ink, and your own body's ability to pull out the ink. The laser activates or explodes the ink molecules, which are then removed by macrophages in the skin. Anything in the ankle doesn't heal as well as higher in the body, but with good after care, you can heal well and maintain good skin quality--makes for more effective treatments

Circulation lymphatic flow and immune system activity control the body's ability to effectively remove the ink that has been lasered. The other important factors are: right laser wavelengths to match the ink colors, the health status, nutritional and lifestyle habits, and waiting enough time between treatments. We use 3 lasers to treat all colors. We have successful removals using less than 15 percent of our lasers' maximum power. We use newer models of a laser made by the company that makes most of their lasers. Yes, their lasers can in general. No specific results can be made in a specific case without violating ethical rules. We offer a written agreement to be signed by both parties for up to two years of treatments. If there is more than 5 percent ink left, we will treat for up to an additional year at no extra charge. When people ask for 100 percent removal or else they don't begin, we say the science is not there yet. Industry studies consider 95 percent removal as a complete removal. So, be sure to discuss this before beginning treatment.

Your colors, dark purple, black, green, yellow, and teal should respond well to the Astanza "Trinity" Q-Switched laser. The "Trinity" has a combination of the Nd:YAG and Ruby lasers. This means you have three wavelengths - 1064nm, 532nm, and 694.3nm - to target different ink colors. The Nd:YAG (Neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet crystal) laser produces a1064nm wavelength, which is effective at treating dark tattoos. The 532nm wavelength targets red, orange, and yellow inks. The Ruby (synthetic ruby crystal in the Trinity) produces a 694.3nm wavelength, which removes blue and green colored tattoos.
