Does laser tattoo removal cause scarring?
How much of a "clean slate" can actually be achieved? Will my skin look just like it did before I got my tattoo?

Laser Tattoo removal should not cause scarring. If the tattoo has scarring
in it (if you run your hand over the tattoo and you can feel it it, than
there is scarring from the tattoo being applied too deep), there can be a
change in your skin texture, hypo or hyper pigmentation. Typically the skin
will heal 6 months to one year post treatment but these changes can be
permanent. It is absolutely possible to remove a tattoo completely.

Tattoo removal can result in a "clean slate" but in most cases, it
takes some amount of time - usually between 6 months and 2 years - for
the residual pigment left over at the end of the treatment to completely
fade. Aggressive tattoo removal treatment can lead to scarring and/or
"hypopigmentation" where the color of the skin is permanently changed
because of the treatment. This normally happens to darker skin types
and situations where the practitioner is being too aggressive with the
laser treatment.
