Are tattoo removal creams dangerous?
Can the creams damage my skin? Are they even effective in removal or do they just lighten tattoos?

There are a number of tattoo removal creams on the market. Most that I have knowledge of are not very effective, if effective at all. Most all of them contain acid of some sort. If you have no way of knowing the ingredients and the strength of the acid, I would never recommend putting it in or on your skin.
Tattoo ink is down in the dermis or 2nd layer of skin. Anything that you rub on topically has very little chance of working. It just won't get down in to your skin deep enough to get the ink out. Acid can cause excessive scarring that you can never correct.

We do not know that tattoo removal creams are dangerous, it depends on
the active ingredient. We will say that from our experience we have had
many patients that have used them and none say they were effective.
