Tattoo Removal: It Isn't Just Done with Lasers

Body art is something that really has become mainstream in society within the past decade. Before, it was restricted to just certain tribal customs or people of ill-repute. Now, however, people from all different backgrounds choose to get "inked".

While tattoos are definitely "chic" now, some people don't like something about the designs they get, so they start looking into getting tattoo removal. Now, whether you are familiar with tattoo removal procedures or not, you have probably at least known someone who has, or is thinking about, getting tattoo removal. Yes, the procedure really is that popular.

The most popular form of tattoo removal involves lasers. The lasers penetrate the upper layers of the skin, which is where the tattoo ink was originally injected. Then, the lasers are meant to slowly break up the molecules, so that the ink eventually disappears.

Now, while that method is the safest method, it is not the only method. There is also a procedure called TCA. In this method, a chemical is applied on the surface of the skin, and it is meant to literally eat away at the layers of skin that contain the tattoo ink. The chemical itself is clear, and applied with a q-tip once every few weeks.

Obviously, this method is not only disgusting, but also very dangerous. It can leave a person permanently scarred, and the person can have an adverse reaction to the chemical itself. If a person is thinking of having this procedure done, they should definitely think twice and go with the lasers.
