Learning About the Two Main Kinds of Tattoo Removal

There are many different ways that people express their love for one another, and body art is sometimes on of those ways. However, some artists will not do such a tattoo unless they think that the person is truly ready to have it be permanent. Too many people have gotten body art that included the name or even the face of a boyfriend or girlfriend, only to have the relationship end.

People who find themselves in such a position thus need to start thinking about tattoo removal. It is important to note that a tattoo is not just something that a person can have washed off. Rather, any tattoo removal process takes a considerable amount of time (depending on the size and type of the tattoo) over more than one session to complete.

That being said, there are two main tattoo removal methods. The first method involves the application of a clear liquid to the skin known as TCA. What this TCA substance basically does is break up the skin molecules that have bonded themselves to the tattoo ink, and thus slowly dissolve them. This method is actually done at home, but must be done gently and once every few weeks in order to prevent scarring.

The second tattoo removal method is done by a medical professional (usually a dermatologist) using lasers. This outpatient procedure utilizes the heat of the lasers to eradicate the ink infested skin molecules. At the same time, the laser light stimulates new skin tissue to grow over the affected area.
