The Medlite® laser - the best choice for tattoo removal

Older lasers that were used for the purposes of tattoo removal often had very mediocre results while leaving behind scars in place of the tattoo.

The advent of Q-switch lasers has since made the removal of most tattoo inks permissible with very low incidence of scarring. The Medlite® Laser can significantly lighten or remove several different tattoo inks.

This laser works with the energy of light. Tattoo ink is removed by using particular wavelengths of light which passes into the skin but is only absorbed by the ink. This rapid absorption causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles which are then removed by the body's natural filtering system.

On average, professional tattoos require 6 - 8 treatments. Amateur or homemade tattoos require at least 4 treatments. The number of treatments depends on the color of the ink and the depth of ink in the skin.

Dark blue, black or red ink gets the best results. Other colors usually fade as well. Green and yellow are more difficult and will often require additional treatments for significant fading.
