Stiffening Tattoo Laws

Yet again the government has decided to tighten tattoo laws in the US. This time, Michigan is the newest state to jump on the bandwagon. Tattoo parlors and artists will now be obliged to have licenses as do tattoo artists. This new wave of stringent tattooing laws has gained popularity and is due in part to the fight against tattoos. Even workplaces and government agencies including police force and fire fighters are banning visible tattoos and urging employees to remove them or hide them. ""I think it's fantastic," says The Edge owner Jeff Stroud. "The best thing about the law is the ability to prosecute scratches or people that are tattooing out of their homes." The new law will require tattoo parlors to pay $500 for a three year license, and be subject to health inspections."
