Congresses earmark bill yesterday to fund tattoo removal has caused a stir among angry GOP officials and even some economic pundits. Many are saying that rather than butting the billions of dollars, passed by the Obama administration, in this bill to our country's economic woes they are putting money in areas it is not vital.
The New York Post went on a tirade against the bill saying, "Another earmark, by Rep. Howard Berman (D-Calif.) provides $200,000 for a 'tattoo-removal violence-outreach program' in Los Angeles. The funds would buy a tattoo-removal machine to help gang members erase signs of their past."
However the benefits of this funding is that many former gang members and troubled youth can erase their past and get involved in the work force. It gives them a new life and a possible career. So there are many benefits to the tattoo removal funding. Many cities nationwide are jumping on the gang-member tattoo removal band wagon and hopefully we will see it's positive side in the near future.
