There once was a time when the people who were getting tattoos were primarily men. That isn't true anymore since women are regular clients of tattoo artists around the globe. However, women may be more likely than men to suffer from tattoo regret after getting a tattoo. At least, that seems to be one indication of the fact that
women are getting more tattoo removal than men are.
This could be due to the fact that women with tattoos are still seen in a negative light by society despite the fact that more and more women have tattoos these days. Embarassment over having the tattoo, a belief that the tattoo lowers their image and a concern that the tattoo makes it harder to get a job are leading reasons that women get tattoo removal.
What was found in the study that examined tattoo removal rates between men and women was that women and men were equally likely to dislike their tattoos five years after getting them but that women were far more likely than men to experience social stigma as a result of the tattoo.
