There is an interesting article about tattooing among members of the gay community over at the Washington Blade. It discusses tattoo trends in general and makes some observations about the trends that are specific to the gay community discussed in the article. It also makes reference to tattoo removal since that's an important thing to consider these days when getting a tattoo.

One of the things that the article mentions it that it is much less likely that you're going to dislike your tattoo down the line if you choose to get one that's very unique and personalized. If you just walk into a tattoo shop and choose an image off the wall, you're not going to always love it. If you get a tattoo that other people in your social circle get, you could eventually come to dislike it. But if you choose the tattoo yourself for personal reasons then it's a lot less likely that you're going to want to get laser tattoo removal later on.
