GQ Writer Supports Tattoo Removal for Women

The Daily Mail has published an opinion article by Alex Blimes, the features director of GQ magazine. In this article, Blimes offers up the potentially unpopular opinion that young women today should not be getting tattoos. And he goes on to suggest that tattoo removal should be a lucrative industry as these women start to realize that getting tattoos was a bad idea.

There are many different reasons that Blimes gives for his dislike of tattoos on girls. Some of these include:

- They're a sign of a shallow and conformist mentality.
- They're aesthetically unappealing.
- Girls don't seem to stop at one and multiple tattoos on women are unattractive.

In his most harsh comment, he says:

"Show me a girl with a tattoo in 2008, and I'll show you a girl who spends far too much time looking at paparazzi pictures of starlets falling out of minicabs, updating her Facebook page and voting via text message in television talent shows." (source)

Blimes does concede however that the occasional cool chick like Angelina Jolie can pull off tattoos. But even she has had her occasional tattoo regrets.

Question of the Day: Are tattoos on girls hot or not?
