Tattoo Removal Gone Wrong? Share Your Tale.

tattoo.jpg
*photo found here

Did you get tattoo removal done at a med spa or day spa environment. If you got your tattoo removed or lightened at a place other than the standard doctor’s office, you might be able to tell your story to a reporter and get it written up in the newspaper. There’s a San Diego reporter who is doing an inside story on plastic surgery gone wrong and who is focusing on tattoo removal and other procedures that were done at a med spa type of place. She’s specifically looking for people over in the Southern California area with a preference for people who actually had their tattoo removal done in San Diego.

Even if you’re not in the San Diego area though, you shouldn’t be afraid to share your story. Newspapers all over the nation are interested in hearing about bad tattoo removals in order to educate people about the pros and cons of going to doctors vs. med spas. If you’ve got a tale to tell - good or bad - about tattoo removal, consider writing it up as an editorial and submitting it to your local newspaper. Or you can comment about it here and start spreading the word online!

Seeking Stories About Celebrity Tattoo Removal

celeb%20tattoo.jpg

I’ve done a lot of research into the topic of celebrity tattoos. There are people in Hollywood who are famous for their tattoos (Angelina, Ozzy) and then there are celebrities who have tattoos but you never really think twice about them because they’re small, hidden or just not news-worthy. Celebrity tattoos are an interesting topic because tattoos are such a personal thing which can tell you a lot about someone’s inner workings.

One area that I’ve tried to research and haven’t had a lot of luck in is the topic of celebrity tattoo removal. There are certainly celebrities out there who get tattoos they don’t want and then get rid of them. (After all, celebrities left and right are getting involved in marriages they don’t want and getting rid of those.) But the research material on celebrity tattoo removal doesn’t seem to be out there. Does anyone know of celebrities who have gotten their tattoos removed? If so, I’d love to hear from you!

What Are Your Fears About Tattoo Removal?

facialexpressionfear.jpg

Tattoo removal is considered to be a relatively safe procedure but it’s one that comes with a little bit of pain. The knowledge of that pain is one of the biggest fears that many people have about getting tattoo removal done. But some people have other fears about tattoo removal which outweigh the risk of pain. After all, they figure that they went through the slight pain of getting the tattoo so they can go through the pain of getting it removed. Instead, these people frequently fear that the removal will not be entirely successful and that they will be left with a partial tattoo which they dislike even more than the tattoo in its original form. Most people’s fears about tattoo removal are assuaged when they go in to speak with a professional about the facts of tattoo removal. But fear is a funny thing and you can never tell when it’s going to creep up on you or what’s going to cause it. What are your biggest concerns about tattoo removal?

Do Tattoo Removal Creams Work?

tatbgone.jpg

There are many people out there who want to get their tattoos removed but who don’t really want to face the surgeries that are involved in tattoo removal. It’s true that tattoo removal can be painful and costly when done by laser or by surgical excision. But are the tattoo removal alternatives out there really something that can work for you?

One of the most well-known removal alternatives is TatBGone. This is a tattoo removal cream (or combination of creams) which you apply to your tattoo on a daily basis to cause the ink to fade. Reports about whether or not this kind of tattoo removal works seem to vary widely between people who say it was completely successful for them and people who said that it didn’t do anything to remove the tattoo.

You should definitely look into all of your different options if you are considering tattoo removal. You can learn about some of your options (including seeing what site readers said about TatBGone) from About.com’s tattoo guide. When determining the right tattoo removal for you, consider not only the initial cost but also the cost you’re out if the removal form you choose doesn’t work and you have to go with something else.

Celebrity Couple Spotted With Matching Tattoos

sienna.jpg

It’s only been a rumor up until now that celebrity model, actress and fashion designer Sienna Miller could be dating actor Rhys Ifans. There’s still no actual confirmation of this rumor but the fact that the celebrities apparently got matching tattoos could be a pretty good indication that there is some sort of match made there. Apparently if you look at the wrists of either half of the couple, you’ll see a swallow tattooed there.

That’s one good thing about tattoo removal - you can do things like that even as a new or budding couple and there’s not the risk of permanence that used to be there. Although tattoo removal isn’t always necessary when you’re getting something as simple as a swallow. But if they’d gotten their names tattooed on each other or something like that, they could use tattoo removal to resolve the problem if the unconfirmed relationship never became worth confirming.

Which Celebrity Tattoo Would You Get?

celebrity-caricatures01.bmp

If you were going to get a tattoo depicting the image of any celebrity at all, who would you get that tattoo image of? Of course, with tattoo removal as an option, you could get the image of any celebrity done and then lighten-and-alter or totally remove it once that celebrity faded out of the spotlight. It might even be a good gimmick to make a bit of a celebrity out of yourself - you could get the tattoo and then have it lightened to fade in correspondence with the fading career of the celebrity. Or you could get it updated to reflect the celebrity plastic surgery that the person had done over time. That’s a photo blog update that I’d be willing to follow. But if you were going to get a celebrity’s face tattooed on to you with the intention of avoiding tattoo removal, then you’d probably want to get the image of a celebrity with some longevity.

Does Tattoo Removal Get Rid Of The “Bad Girl” Image?

bad%20girl.png

One of the many reasons that people get rid of their tattoos is because they no longer enjoy the way that people look at them and judge them based on their tattoos. Girls who once wanted to be “bad girls” have tattoos that make men think they’re wild and crazy. The decorative tattoo on the small of the back which is shown off on low-rise jeans is a typical example of that kind of tattoo. Women who grow up and want to get rid of that bad girl image may find that they can change their clothes but those new business casual shirts still sometimes inadvertently rise up and reveal the old tattoo, placing images in the minds of co-workers that they simply don’t want there. If the bad girl (or bad boy) days are gone, the fishnets have been retired and the “pimp” belt buckle has gone to the Salvation Army, it may be time to think about laser tattoo removal or other tattoo removal treatments to help finalize the finessing of your image.

Will Former Porn Star Need Tattoo Removal?

jenna.jpg

Jenna Jameson has recently added a decorative motto to her back in the form of a tattooed slogan. The motto which she has had inked on to her money-fetching skin is “I’m not afraid; I’m born to do this”. Perhaps Jameson isn’t afraid now and since her body isn’t exactly taking a beating in terms of its appearance, she’s got no need to be. But eventually, even the bodies of former porn stars turn on them and sometimes those old tattoos just don’t look so hot on the new frame. Will Jenna Jameson eventually be a candidate for tattoo removal, needing to get that tattoo off of her back? Or will the fact that the rest of her backside may still be getting attention years from now take away from her need to think about tattoo removal for many years to come?

Reality TV Idea: Celebrity Tattoo Removal

television.jpg

We all know that people like to watch the process of others getting their tattoos. Most of us have gone with a friend who was getting a tattoo done, checked out a tattoo expo or watched tattoos on TV shows such as Miami Ink. But how many of us have had the chance to see what tattoo removal looks like? Not too many of us have seen it but many of us would like to. Celebrity tattoo removal would do even better for a show like this. Sick as it is, we like to see celebrities in pain whether it’s the pain of laser tattoo removal itself or the emotional pain of having a tattoo that they just don’t want anymore. We want to hear the dish on why that celebrity needs tattoo removal, what that tattoo was supposed to mean and why it no longer applies. If a show like Miami Ink and it’s spin-offs can do so well that the tattoo artists are becoming celebrities themselves then it seems to me that there’s room for a celebrity tattoo removal show on the market. What do you think?

Celebrity Tattoo Removal: Charlie Sheen

sheen.jpg

It wasn’t that long ago that we asked readers here on the site if they knew of any celebrity tattoo removal. After all, we hear a lot about which tattoos celebrities are getting but not so much about which ones are getting ink removed. Perhaps there’s a new trend in the air because the news is hot right now with celebrity tattoo removal information about actor Charlie Sheen.

Apparently, Sheen has thirteen different tattoos on his body and he’s planning on getting laser tattoo removal to get rid of all of them. The reason? A woman, of course. His current fiancée, Brooke Mueller, is no fan of the body ink and she wants to see it gone. The first tattoo to go was the name of Sheen’s former wife, Denise Richards. But the rest are going even though they don’t directly relate to Sheen’s previous relationship. They’re from a time of life that doesn’t include Brooke and she wants to see Sheen’s body free of the past.

Some might say that Sheen is bending over a little too far backwards to appease his new love. However, it probably doesn’t hurt Sheen any to have the tattoos removed. After all, he doesn’t even remember getting a few of them. The tumult of his relationships is probably far more painful that the tattoo removal will be.

Tattoo Removal to Change Life

removal.jpg

Last month, we reported on how one laser tattoo removal center in Detroit was helping to change lives by taking away unwanted tattoos. In that instance, it was primarily gang-related tattoos that were being removed as part of a way to assist formerly-incarcerated individuals on the path to being welcomed into society. However, it’s not just Detroit laser tattoo removal folks who are assisting individuals in making changes like these and it’s not just incarcerated folks who are in need of community assistance in getting their tattoos removed.

A recent online article reported about the Ink-b-Gone Laser Tattoo Removal Center in Colorado which just opened a second location due to an increased need for their services. What they say is that they never realized just how many groups out there need laser tattoo removal services for the purpose of making life changes. For example, Ink-b-gone works with youth groups in the Denver area to assist young people start their lives over. And it’s not just troubled kids who need the service; apparently colleges are supportive of tattoo removal for graduating seniors who are having trouble getting a job because of the stigma associated with their tattoos.

It would be nice if society wasn’t just skin deep in their assessments of people. But since that’s not the case, it’s nice to know that there are laser tattoo removal places offering discounts to a population needing their services.

Will L.A. Ink’s Kat Von D Need Tattoo Removal?

kat-von-d.jpg

It seems like I’m not the only one out there who thinks that a show about celebrity tattoo removal should be on the agenda for the next round of reality TV planning. TMZ suggested the same thought when reporting recently on the new tattoos acquired by Kat Von Dummy of “L.A. Ink” and her new boyfriend. Kat’s reportedly only been dating this guy for a couple of months and already got matching tattoos with him, going against her own advice to customers about adding ink when the ink’s not even dry yet on the first love letter in the relationship.

If the relationship goes awry, the couple could be looking at laser tattoo removal to erase reminders of their hasty decision. Of course, Kat might like the unicorn tattoo enough to keep it even if she doesn’t keep the boyfriend but is the guy really going to want a unicorn tattooed on him for the rest of his life? Perhaps these are the things that one should think about when getting involved with tattoo girls.

Would You Get Tattoo Removal To Get The Job?

remove.jpg

The Ventura County Star recently reported on an issue that is important in the tattoo community – the lingering stigma about tattoos. As the article points out, tattoos are increasingly common even in professional settings. However, that doesn’t mean that jobs are happy with the fact that employees have tattoos. Obviously they can’t fire you for getting one while you’re employed with them but seeing them at a job interview can deter a person from getting hired. There are just certain settings where the appearance of the professional matters and many people still think that tattoos aren’t something that goes along with a professional appearance.

So, what do you think? Would you go through laser tattoo removal in order to be able to get a job? What if it was your dream job and the only way to get it was to get rid of the ink? Tattoo removal can be painful and it’s more expensive than getting the tattoo was, but would the cost be worth the benefits of a higher-paying job? It’s my personal opinion that if a career place isn’t going to hire me because of the tattoos that I’ve chosen to get, then it’s not a place that I’m going to want to work. But many people find that they don’t have a problem erasing the ink of the past in order to move forward in to their futures.

Megan Fox Is Sexier Than Charlize Theron Because of her Tattoo

fox.jpg

Tattoo removal can be a great thing for a great number of people but the fans out there think that Megan Fox should avoid it. The young actress from Transformers recently made the number one spot on a list of women named sexier than Charlize Theron. The reason behind the article was that Theron was recently named “The Sexiest Woman Alive” by Esquire Magazine and the author of the article begged to differ about that. There’s no denying that Theron is hot but the author says that Fox has got her beat, and Fox’s sexy tattoo is a major contributing factor to her hotness.

The tattoo which is located on her shoulder blade reads “We will all laugh at gilded butterflies”. It’s a Shakespearian reference apparently but there is also humor in it because of the irony since so many girls out there get butterfly tattoos. How many butterfly tattoos do you think have been removed by older women who have found after a few years that there’s actually nothing unique or even particularly cute about getting a stenciled butterfly put on their bodies? But a unique tattoo like Fox’s which helps her sexiness shine is no candidate for removal.

Will Tattoo Contest Spark Celebrity Tattoo Removal?

carter.jpg

ZUG.com, a well-known comedy web site, has just announced that it’s holding a “celebrity tattoo contest”. As is to be expected from the comedy portal, the contest has a humorous bent. It focuses on the extensive tattoo art covering the body of Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. The focus of the contest is for participants to come up with crazy ideas for the most ridiculous tattoo that Carter could add to the collection. The contest winner receives a free tattoo design.

In conjunction with the promotion of this celebrity tattoo contest, another site has opened new channels that share celebrity tattoo news. This speaks to a growing trend in the interest of the average person in celebrity tattoos. We want to know which celebrities have tattoos. And we want to know which ones are getting celebrity tattoo removal. After all, image is everything in Hollywood and celebrity tattoo removal can be just as important as getting celebrity tattoos in getting attention. This is especially true now that more and more sites, such as these, are focusing on celebrity tattoos.

The entire contest begs the question of whether Nick Carter is going to start looking at laser tattoo removal. He does have a claim to fame right now for being the most tattooed celebrity. But he might find after enough publicity that he’s tired of having his personal art on display for the world to comment on. As the years pass, he may discover that a few of those tattoos are just as ridiculous as the ones being created by the new competition. And other stars may find that celebrity tattoo removal is an option to consider as they start getting negative attention for their own images.

New Tattoo Inks Facilitate Tattoo Removal

tat%20kit.jpg

The news has been out for awhile now that new tattoo inks are in the works but the date for release is getting closer and so people are interested in getting additional information. People want to know what these inks are and how they work. Well, that’s simple enough. These inks are designed to make tattoo art a little bit less permanent by making tattoo removal easier. The way that the ink works is that it is created with a new kind of technology that is easily broken up when radiated with a laser. This means that you’ll still be able to get a beautiful tattoo, but if you decide that you want it removed down the line, laser tattoo removal will do the job more easily and less painfully than in the past.

However, not everyone in the tattoo removal industry thinks that these new inks are the way to go. A news report by NJ Biz provides a terrific overview of the new tattoo inks and also lets readers know that there are people out there who are opposed to their use. One major reason is that people in the tattoo business are saying that creating tattoo inks intended for easy removal goes against the spirit of tattooing. Maybe. But the fact of the matter is that a lot of people are discovering that they want to change their body art over time. Laser tattoo removal is increasingly popular. And because of that, improved methods of facilitating that tattoo removal will likely be popular as well.

Still, you might not want to run to the tattoo shop and get these new inks just yet. The report also says that the safety regulations have not entirely been cleared on these inks. The inks will be hitting a test launch area of just six stores starting next month. Keep an eye on the reports after the launch gets started to get a better idea if the new inks for laser tattoo removal may be right for your next design.

Fans Offer Celebrity Tattoo Removal to Heather Chadwell for “Rock of Love”

heather.jpg

If you pay any attention to reality TV shows … and especially if you pay attention to celebrity reality TV shows … you’ve heard of “Rock of Love”. If not, we’ll clue you in: “Rock of Love” was launched by Poison’s lead singer Bret Michaels as a sort of spin-off to Flavor Flav’s “Flavor of Love”. The 12-week show ran throughout the summer on VH1 and was your basic celebrity reality TV show with competition amongst the group members and energy generated for the audience that followed it.

For Heather Chadwell, the show was about more than just celebrity reality television. Chadwell truly fell for Bret Michaels, the kind of head-over-heels falling in love that happens best on television in high-intensity circumstances. She fell so hard in fact that she got his name tattooed on to her neck for the whole world to see. We all know what happens when you get a lover’s name tattooed on you; you soon start thinking about tattoo removal.

Or maybe not. Heather Chadwell is no longer head-over-heels for Poison’s lead singer. But she claims that she doesn’t regret the experience of falling in love. And she doesn’t regret getting the tattoo. She says that many people love the tattoo and that it’s a great attention-getter for the time being. As such, she isn’t currently considering tattoo removal. However, in a recent MySpace interview with Mark of Reality Wanted, Chadwell did admit that people have offered her tattoo removal. So it seems that the fans would not all agree that Chadwell should avoid celebrity tattoo removal. Time will tell whether or not this actress gives the fans want they want and takes advantage of the offer for removing the tattoo.

Documentary Predicts Tattoo Removal Increase

tattoo.jpg

There’s a new documentary film coming out that might be of interest to anyone interested in tattoo removal and the tattoo art culture as a whole. The film, entitled “Why Do You Tattoo?” takes a close look at the history of body art and explores the motivations behind the tattoos of specific people interviewed for the film. It looks at the changing trends in tattoo acceptance over the years, showing how head-to-toe body art has gone from being a “mainstay of carnival side shows” to an increasingly common practice in mainstream America.

“Why Do You Tattoo?” also takes a look at tattoo removal. Obviously, as tattoo culture has grown, so has the interest in tattoo removal. The filmmaker looks at the history of tattoo removal. More importantly, he looks towards its future.

With so many individuals going under the gun, Angeli predicts that tattoo removal will become a huge business in coming years. The film will review current removal techniques such as laser treatments, dermabrasion, and home remedies that suggest 100% removal in a matter of months.

As you may have guessed, “Angeli” is the filmmaker. Lou Angeli, to be more exact. If the name sounds familiar to you, that’s probably because you have some interest in the world of documentaries where he has established himself. Tattoo culture and tattoo removal are a new area of film that he’s exploring. In the past, his work focused on disasters and catastrophe reporting. Tattoo culture may seem like a frivolous exploration after that topic. But when you think about it, you realize that what Angeli documents is all things affecting society en masse. The art of tattoo and the history that surrounds it is one of those topics.

Celebrity Tattoo Removal Mistake: Victoria Beckham

beckham.bmp

Victoria Beckham, AKA Posh Spice, was the victim of false news reports that she had undergone celebrity tattoo removal. Beckham, who is of course married to celebrity soccer player David Beckham, has a tattoo that commemorates her love for her honey. The tattoo starts on her neck and crawls down her spine, and although you need to be able to read Hebrew to understand it, it memorializes the couple’s devotion to one another. So Beckham was understandably unhappy when, not too long ago, celebrity pictures came out of her sans tattoo.

Did Victoria Beckham really get celebrity tattoo removal to eradicate this memory? No, not at all. The removal was done through the simple process of airbrushing the tattoo out of the picture. Perhaps publicity folks didn’t think that the Spice Girls needed to be displaying their committed, monogamous love to their fans. In any case, Beckham wasn’t pleased. She didn’t go through all of the trouble of getting the tattoo only to have people wondering if she’d had it lasered away.

If the Beckhams do experience trouble in paradise, at least Victoria will know what she looks like without the message to her hubby adorning her sexy back. After all, laser tattoo removal isn’t that difficult of a process. There’s no need for it yet but even Posh Spice could find that one day things aren’t looking so bright.

Celebrity Tattoo Removal Candidates: 50 Cent and Vivica Fox

50cent2.jpg

It’s been several years since Vivica Fox was inspired by former boyfriend 50 Cent to get a tattoo on her forty-year-old body. Maybe enough time has passed that Fox doesn’t actually need the tattoo anymore, a tattoo which symbolizes the strength that it took to get over their brief relationship. Fox isn’t looking into laser tattoo removal as far as we know, but maybe it’s something that she should consider. After all, getting a tattoo put on to recognize the end of a relationship isn’t really any less intense than getting one to recognize the relationship. Now that the pain is gone, maybe Fox should think about putting that part of her past behind her once and for all and getting celebrity tattoo removal to move on.

And since we’re on the subject of Fox and celebrity tattoo removal, one has to wonder whether ex-boyfriend 50 Cent has any plans for getting his own tats removed. He’s put in a lot of time and effort to get his body adorned with images and designs. His tattooed back is a subject of many photographs and a source of interest to many fans. It’s not too likely he’ll be getting removal of the big “50” on his back but the man has got a whole lot of tattoos and it may turn out that he doesn’t really want all of them. As time goes on, he might think about getting laser tattoo removal if for no other reason than to free up space on his body for some new designs.

Celebrity Tattoo Removal: Kat Von D’s Tire Treads

24-446~Kat-Von-D-Posters.jpg

An interesting convergence of worlds is taking place this morning at a convention in Las Vegas. The setting is the 2007 SEMA show where people come together to learn all about the automotive industry. The world that is merging with this car-loving crowd is the world of celebrity tattoo artist Kat Von D. The actress from L.A. Ink is going to be on site to create a tattoo for the lucky winner of a Dunlop Tires contest.

Although winning a contest for a new tattoo design by a tattoo artist as famous as Kat Von D is thrilling, it has a high likelihood of leading to a desire for laser tattoo removal in the near future. You see, it’s precisely that kind of excitement that causes people to make choices about a tattoo that they wouldn’t have otherwise made … and might not end up wanting in the end. They get stimulated by the excitement of all that’s going on at the convention and decide to get a tattoo that commemorates the event.

At first, this person will be thrilled, of course. They can show off to all of their friends and family that they have a Kat Von D tattoo on their bodies. But when the celebrity status fades away, they just might find that they want their tattoo to fade away as well. Luckily, laser tattoo removal is an option that they have. They can enjoy the convention, be thrilled with the win and remedy the error later if they select a tattoo that isn’t too appealing. After all, who really wants to commemorate a trip to an auto industry convention?

Tips for Laser Tattoo Removal

laser%20tat%20remove.jpg

There’s an article in Florida Today that’s all about the prevalence of tattoos in today’s society. It goes through some interesting clichés of what you are likely to find on people’s bodies in the form of art and it discusses the basics about getting a tattoo. But what’s really useful from the article is that it provides some great common sense tips about preparing for laser tattoo removal.

The main tip that all people should consider when they are getting laser tattoo removal is that they need to work with a reputable doctor. The article reminds us that laser tattoo removal should be done by someone who is board certified in that procedure. Additionally, you should feel comfortable asking to see “before and after” photos of the doctor’s own work with tattoo removal. You want to be able to see your results.

In addition to making sure that you work with a good doctor, you should make sure that you are comfortable with the procedure and knowledgeable about what is going to happen in advance. Get tattoo removal information so that you know what you’re getting in to. Ask questions and be prepared to demand more specific answers if you aren’t clear on the procedure. You want to know what is going to happen before it takes place so that you can be happy with your removal results.
